About

My name is Roxanna Evita (Roxita), and I'm a hill-aholic.

That sounded better in my head.
And it didn't sound that good there.

Anyway. I'm twenty-something (bah) based in Sheffield, PhD student at Uni of Manchester, and occasional tutor at Uni of Leeds. Good thing I don't mind trains, then.

I first encountered fell walking in the spring of 2012 when I hiked up Kinder Scout in order to impress the guy I liked (I know, I know) - and I've been hooked ever since. I also have a personal blog and I tweet sometimes when I should be working.

I tend to hike with the Yeti, who fulfills all the tick-boxes of what makes a good hiking buddy. This is he:

Bitches Love Hills is a place for me to make sense of the wondrous world of fell-walking, hiking, and rambling. I'm very much a novice at all this and this blog will document my adventures in trying to learn how to get up and down a hill without dying.

Oh, and if you're wondering why the blog is called Bitches Love Hills - here's the explanation.

Oh, and some fun facts about me? I have a poor sense of direction (though I'm in love with my OS maps), I'm clumsy as hell, and I'm scared of heights... Why wouldn't fell-walking be my hobby!
